Feels like Fall!

Now that my PC is up & running (maybe it was cold, too), I can give you guys an update!
This year is flying by and my little ladybugs are blossoming into quite the little performers. Last Friday I tried something new, Readers Theater, where the kids brought our weekly story to life for many classrooms. Some brought in props while others created masks for our production. One parent even came in to watch and video our 10 minute skit - can't wait to see it!
Our daily routine is set up and running smoothly. We make it to the library on a daily basis, during reader's workshop, as one of the centers during the rotation. Please continue to read those books with your child each night and return them the following day. Each child can check out 2 books at a time, one on their level and one to be enjoyed with your help. Atleast one book should go back the next day so your child can participate in library check out time.
We also sign up for the computer lab each Friday as a fun Friday activity with an academic hidden twist (shhhh, mums the word!). Faast Math (yes, that is how it is spelled) is a new program that reviews math facts in a video game format. We will also explore different websights so that your child will have a resource to use during the upcoming holiday breaks. Okay, time for me to get my kids up and ready since it is a school morning. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, so there may be another post this week. I'll put a note in the kids' planners - thank you so much for reading & signing their planners on a daily basis. My class is amazing & the apples never fall far from the tree!!!
Sincerely, Mrs. Lewis
